This is Caspian's official bio currently found in his champion page in-game.


There are few still alive with the skill… the alluring performance — nay! the enrapturing, dazzling SPECTACLE that is what sights behold you when witnessing this dashing rogue’s deadly skills and quicksilver tongue in action. Blessed with arcane weapons and years of streetwise knowledge and training, he takes what he wants and gives some of it away – if he likes you, of course.

He sought after an abyssal artifact most would deem too dangerous to handle (Hey, it was just lying around!) but worth exorbitant value to Lillith. Now Caspian, Thief of Hearts (and Treasure) has his work cut out for him if he wishes to survive what comes next.

The pursuit of hedonistic perfection is a dangerous occupation, but when has that ever stopped anyone?

This is an unofficial version of Caspian's bio intended to more clearly present all currently known information regarding him. Sources can be found here.


A notable thief wielding arcane weapons who spends his time enjoying himself and stealing, occasionally giving some of his stolen goods to people he likes.

At one point, he encountered and defeated two Abyssal entities approaching a chest, inside of which was an Abyssal headpiece. He later showed it to Saati and invited her to tag along with him.

Summary[]

His playful banter and deadly grace complement a deadly skill set as he dazzles and flourishes his way to absolute victory. Caspian is bolstered by his passive, Piercing and Sharp Momentum, which allows him to alternate between increasing the attack speed of his primary or secondary fires on impact. Coupled with his speedy, flashy attacks, Caspian commands the attention of his enemies and admirers alike.

Caspian also charms with his other abilities like Deadly Momentum, which allows Caspian to dash and whirl around his enemies inflicting damage in the process. Finally, Caspian’s ultimate is Storm of Blades – a lethal ability which allows him to summon a series of blades around him that deal massive damage every time he fires his gun or swings his sword. These blades are fired off to pierce any enemies that are unlucky enough to stand in his way. When Caspian is on the scene, no enemy in sight can escape his dashingly deadly skills.

Passive - Piercing Momentum

Hitting an enemy with Love gives you a stack of Piercing Momentum, increasing the rate of fire of War by 3% for 5s. Maximum of 5 stacks and each stack expires independently.
  • This ability deals Direct Damage.
  • Has a reload time of 1.1s and can be animation canceled after 0.7s.
  • Has a maximum range of 350 units.
  • Has damage falloff with a maximum reduction of 12.25%.

Consume 1 Ammo to unleash your rapier in a chain of attacks, dealing up to 350 damage per hit to enemies. Fully effective up to 65 units. War shares an Ammo pool with Love.

Passive - Sharp Momentum

Hitting an enemy with War gives you a stack of Sharp Momentum, increasing the rate of fire of Love by 3% for 5s. Maximum of 5 stacks and each stack expires independently.
  • This ability deals Area Damage.
  • The maximum range is also 65 units.
  • Has an Ammo pool of 20.
  • Will not trigger off of non-Champion targets (Shields, Deployables, etc).
  • Has an Attack Speed of .58s.

Lore

  • The Abyssal headwear Caspian finds in his teaser trailer is identical to the one being worn by the Abyssal Entity in Lillith's cards Sheer Ascent and Virulent.
  • Caspian will work for almost anyone that pays him enough, which is why he's shown with Lillith in her card Sharpened Slaughter.[3]
  • Caspian's weapons are magical based[3] and are implied to be capable of changing shape.[4]
  • While some assume the tattoos featured on Caspian may indicate a connection to the Followers of Io, it's been mentioned that all champions aside from Vora, don't have any affiliation, past or present, with the followers or their faith.[5] However, the developer in question does admit they have a bit of a blind spot for champion lore following Vatu, so Caspian could still potentially have a connection.[6]
  • Oddly, the moon appears to be in one piece in Caspian's trailer, as opposed to being noticeably shattered.
  • Caspian is pansexual, or at the very least not straight. However, the reason why he doesn't have any media showing him enjoying the company of men like The Finer Things does with women is apparently due to the artwork being outsourced.[7][8] Why the developers couldn't specify this detail to the outsourced company is anyone's guess.
  • Based on a dev statement revealing Viktor to be around 5'9 or 175cm tall, and comparing it to model sizes in-game and out of game, it was discovered that Caspian would be around 6' or 182cm tall.

  • Caspian bears a strong resemblance to Sett from League of Legends. It's not known if this was intentional.
  • The line "Ah, Marauder's Port, a wretched hive of sin and inequity. Reminds me of home." (▶️) is a reference to a line from Star Wars.


Concepts

  • Caspian more or less is the result of various unused concepts for Dredge eventually being repurposed.[9]
  • Caspian had numerous other unused designs prior to his final look being settled on, most of them far more feminine, some are far more revealing, and others have a pirate-theme.[10]


Other

  • Caspian was the first champion since the introduction of the standard method of promoting new champions that began with Atlas (five posts on Twitter featuring card artwork and a quote) to only receive four teasers prior to his trailer.
  • Caspian's codename was "Sexy Scoundrel".[11]
  • Hidden underneath Caspian's regular hair is another more closely shaved set of hair.
  • The developers were very aware of the fact Caspian's ally ultimate voice line ("Pierce, then shred till nothing's left!" (▶️)) sounds more like Caspian begins the line by saying "Piss" rather than "Pierce", which led to a bit of a debate on whether to cut the line short and begin from "Shred" instead. At least one developer figured the worst that would happen was people would meme the line, which is what ended up happening.[12]
