{{DeveloperCommentary|The underlying design and architecture are basically the same as the original but the materials, rocks and vegetation are much improved. We’ve added metallic gold through the map to add a feeling of opulence and ancient wealth. We’ve also added a new Jaguar statue to the map at the head of the waterfall along the back wall of the map. It’s large, imposing and should serve as a landmark from quite a distance. All the water and waterfalls in the map have also been updated to use the textures and material treatments used for water in Bazaar and beyond. This includes an updated waterfall material created for this map by our VFX lead. As for lighting, we’ve tried to make the tree canopy atop the buildings much denser, which has resulted in deeper shadows throughout Jaguar Falls, giving the map a more tropical, jungle-like feel. Torchlights and dappled sunlight have been added or enhanced to keep the level readable for gameplay while retaining the moody atmosphere. We hope you enjoy this updated take on one of our classic maps!}}

Jaguar Falls is one of the maps in Paladins and was released in the Paladins CB30 update. It later received a visual rework in the 4.4 update.
Like every Siege Map, Jaguar Falls also has certain callouts.

Description[ | ]

This map has mirrored layouts and is designed for 2 teams of 5 players. There is a Capture Point in the middle. The bases are located at opposite ends of the map.

The only Game Mode that is currently playable in this map is Siege.

Lore[ | ]

Trials of the Realm Bio:
"The trees and vines of the island temple cast dancing silhouettes over the beautiful flowing falls. But don't be distracted by the tranquil display; something may be watching from the shadows."[1]

Other Information:
As can be seen in Trials of the Realm[1], Jaguar Falls is also part of a larger area known as the 'Temple Isles', alongside Frog Isle and Serpent Beach, as well as Primal Court, as can be seen in both maps of the Realm.

Hazard(s)[ | ]

Cliff Ledges[ | ]

These can be found on the flank routes near the Capture Point and the Spawn, but they regardless make champions with knockback abilities ideal for easy eliminations, as well as punishing Champions that lack flight/teleportation abilities who are therefore susceptible to being launched off the map without having any sort of means for recovery...

Gallery After Rework[ | ]

In the Shadows update, Jaguar Falls received a visual rework.

The underlying design and architecture are basically the same as the original but the materials, rocks and vegetation are much improved. We’ve added metallic gold through the map to add a feeling of opulence and ancient wealth. We’ve also added a new Jaguar statue to the map at the head of the waterfall along the back wall of the map. It’s large, imposing and should serve as a landmark from quite a distance. All the water and waterfalls in the map have also been updated to use the textures and material treatments used for water in Bazaar and beyond. This includes an updated waterfall material created for this map by our VFX lead. As for lighting, we’ve tried to make the tree canopy atop the buildings much denser, which has resulted in deeper shadows throughout Jaguar Falls, giving the map a more tropical, jungle-like feel. Torchlights and dappled sunlight have been added or enhanced to keep the level readable for gameplay while retaining the moody atmosphere. We hope you enjoy this updated take on one of our classic maps!

Trivia[ | ]

  • While tigrons and the statues on this map are both feline-based, they are completely separate things, especially in the modern day.[2]
  • This map was initially part of a larger one called Temple Isle. It was divided into Frog Isle, Jaguar Falls, and Serpent Beach.
  • Though Jaguar Falls received a visual rework, for some reason, it never received a proper new loading art, with it instead still using one of the old ones.
  • Serpent Beach and the older version of Frog Isle are visible in the distance of this map, as shown here, and here.
    • This also holds true for the reworked version of this map, as can be seen here. Oddly, Frog Isle retains its old appearance.
  • The old version of this map can be seen from Serpent Beach, as shown here.
  • Both the old version of this map as well as Serpent Beach were somewhat visible on the older version of Frog Isle as well, as can be seen here.
  • The icon for the visual rework of this map appeared in the Custom Match section during the Indomitable update, this being prior to its official release. [3]
    • Its early appearance is also shared with the reworked version of Stone Keep, which appeared as the background of the Indomitable update.
  • Jaguar Falls initially received a rework in Open Beta 40 prior to its later rework in the Shadows update.
  • During the Open Beta 64 update, many maps had various props added to their spawn rooms to build up hype for the introduction of lore. For Jaguar Falls, this included Resistance posters and banners, a poster showing Valera brandish a sword with text that reads "Join Now", as well as various supplies. This can be seen in-game here and here.
  • A statue reminiscent of the water pouring jaguar statues appears on Marauder's Port.
  • The old version of this map appears in Corvus' card Magistrate's Might, as well as Yagorath's card Deadly Pursuit.
  • Talus and Moji's teaser trailers take place on this map.
