Moji ▶️ is a Support Champion in Paladins, added on January 10th, 2018.
Lore[ | ]
This is Moji's official bio currently found in her champion page in-game.
While the rest of her kind fled into The Burrows under the Enchanted Forest to avoid the war raging across the Realm, Moji took it upon herself to use her Leipori magic to fight for the world's chance to recover.
However, after Yagorath threatened the heart of her home, Moji realized she couldn't wait for the healing process when her friends were in danger. Channeling all her energy into this new purpose, she returned to battle to support those in need.
Riding atop her trusty familiar, Po-Li, she unleashes a befuddling mix of brilliant healing on her friends and a glimmering maelstrom on everyone else.
This is an unofficial version of Moji's bio intended to more clearly present all currently known information regarding her. Sources can be found here.
With the Crystal War waging across the Realm and the other Leipori fleeing into the forests, Moji stood her ground, taking it upon herself to summon the great nature spirits to defend the Realm. Though she would encounter a few unforeseen interruptions in the form of Skye and Yagorath.
This was Moji's in-game bio prior to the The Damned Frontier update. It's no longer considered canon.
While the rest of the rabbit-like leipori fled to the forests to avoid getting involved in the war raging across the Realm, Moji took it upon herself to summon the great nature spirits to defend the world. She charges into battle atop her trusty familiar, Po-Li, who carries her through the fray as she unleashes a maelstrom of sorcerous destruction on her enemies. Once the war is over and the Realm has returned to its natural state, she hopes to return to the forest and help her people begin the healing process, restoring all that was lost.
Summary[ | ]
Moji is a high utility Support champion capable of high burst damage and close-range healing. Her Spit fires explosive magical projectiles that inflict decent area damage. Her Sparkle rapidly heals allies and places Magic Marks on them that can be detonated with Spit for a burst of area healing and additional healing over time. Her movement skill, Scamper - being indefinite albeit hard to steer - is helpful to quickly reach nearby allies or fleeing enemies, or escape from an unfavorable situation. Her Magic Shield provides durable personal shielding to herself and to her surrounding allies. Her ultimate, Bon Appetit, transforms enemies into helpless treats, which are executed if Moji makes contact with them, but immune to everything else.

Trivia[ | ]
Lore
- Moji is originally from the Enchanted Forest,[1][2] specifically the Burrows, similarly to Rei.[3]
- Despite Moji's Dragonborn skin appearing alongside the Resistance in the Dark Tides lore cinematic, she's not actually with the group, but is more neutral.[4][5]
- Though Rei and Moji may possess similar levels of magical power, Rei is far more focused and refined with hers than Moji,[6] with Moji being far more chaotic in how she uses hers. Moji's magic also more or less comes from the same source as Evie, Imani, and Rei's; that being nature.[7]
- Similarly to Rei, Moji also possesses enough power to transform herself if she wanted, but chooses to remain in her leipori form.[8]
- Despite Moji's childish personality and her Dragonborn skin originally being intended as an older version of her, she's apparently an adult aged leipori.[9]
- Both heads of Moji's familiar have individual names. One is named "Po", the other "Li", hence the name "Po-Li". However, not even the developers know which head is named what.[10]
- It's implied Po-Li and other familiars could hypothetically change form.[11]
- Based on a dev statement revealing Viktor to be around 5'9 or 175cm tall and comparing it to model sizes in-game and out of game, it was discovered that Moji would be around 2'4 or 70cm tall.
Cameos
Moji appears in the following content:
- Cards
- Deadly Pursuit - Yagorath Card
- Magic in the Blood - Rei Card
- Avatars
Notable Characters that appear in Moji's own content includes:
- Cinematics and Trailers
- Skye - Moji's Teaser Trailer*
References
- The emote "There is No Reason to be Upset" references the Smug Dancin' meme from the indie game A Hat in Time, which itself was based on anotherearlier meme from Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp.
- Moji's ultimate, Bon Appetit, was directly inspired by the various types of Transfiguration Beam attacks used by Majin Buu in the Dragon Ball franchise.[12]
Other
- Moji appears to have red eyes, but behind the glasses, her eyes are cyan.
- Moji has one of the slowest production rates for skins in the entire cast, if not the slowest. The reason for this is, according to the developers, that she's apparently the most difficult champion to create skins for, largely due to how complex her and Po-Li's combined rig is.[13][14]
- If Moji is transformed by another Moji's Bon Appetit, Moji will be turned into a treat matching the player's currently used skin, rather than that of the enemy Moji.
- In older versions of Paladins, there used to be a number of additional recolors of default champions. For Moji, these recolors included the Petal skin.
Champion Skins
- Plum
- This skin is likely named after the fruit of the same name.
- Dragonborn
- This skin is based on an older version of Moji.[15] However, this skin may no longer be considered canon, though at the same time, may still be partially canon in some way.[16][17]
- This skin is one of the few to have appeared in an official lore video; it shares this trait with Outlaw Sha Lin, Aurora Furia, Guild Skye, Seal Guardian Vora, and Honor Guard Vora.
- The line "Thanks for nothing... *grunt* You... you useless reptiles..." (▶️) is a reference to a line from the movie How to Train Your Dragon.
- A beach version of this skin appears in Beach Bunny Rei's splash art.
- This same beach variant appears on a mousepad design.
- This skin appears in the Snack Time avatar.
- This skin was part of the Dragon's Call event alongside Outlaw Sha Lin, Overlord Khan, and Aurora Furia.
- Cuddly
- This skin shares its theme with Plushy Makoa, Cuddly Makoa, and Prosperous Makoa.
- PEEKABOO
- The line "Oh, they have the high ground." (▶️) references a line from Star Wars: Episode III -- Revenge of the Sith.
- The line "Oh, I'm bad to the bones." (▶️) references the song Bad to the Bone.
- The line "That's all, folks." (▶️) may be a reference to Loony Tunes.
- This skin is part of the seventh set of crossover content alongside Eliminate Androxus, following Grover, Team Fortress 2 Barik, the Gen:LOCK Crossover Pass, Rambo Viktor, the various Monstercat content, and the various RWBY content.
- This skin shares its theme with Eliminate Androxus.
