Ruckus is a Front Line Champion in Paladins, added on November 17th, 2015.

Lore

While toiling in the gold mines, a particularly wily and inventive goblin named Ruckus stumbled upon the long-lost mind-stone of a fallen war-golem. He installed the relic into his mechanical digging suit, hoping it would provide the suit with enough power to outperform the other miners. He was quite surprised when the ancient sentience reawakened and brought the suit to life.

Though it resented its situation, its pilot, and the name it was given, Bolt nonetheless agreed to a tentative partnership, one that freed them both to scour the Realm in search of fame, fortune, and upgrades.

Summary

Ruckus is a front line champion with both defensive and offensive capabilities. His weapons are a pair of Miniguns that fire at a very high rate and a pair of Missile Launchers that deal area damage. His Emitter creates a shield around himself and slows nearby enemies on use. The Advance skill allows him to quickly move in a straight line towards the direction he is moving. Ruckus' ultimate skill, Hexa Fire, will pull out several extra weapons to rain down destruction upon anything in front of him while he suffers a large movement speed penalty for the duration.

  • Ruckus's mech’s mind stone is named Bolt.
  • Ruckus spends his time collecting scraps from battlefields to construct mechs, as revealed here.
  • Based on a dev statement revealing Viktor to be around 5'9 or 175cm tall, it was discovered that Ruckus would be around 1'5 or 44cm tall, while Bolt would be around 6'6 or 197cm tall.
  • The line, "Roll out!" (▶️) may be a reference to the Transformers and their signature catchphrase, "Autobots, roll out."
  • He and Viktor are voiced by the same voice actor.
  • An early concept for Ruckus shows an incredibly different design.
    • Other early concepts show many variations on Ruckus, indicating his race and gender weren't fully decided on until later stages of development.
  • In an early trailer for the game, Bolt uses voice clips from the Star Slayer skin, despite earlier appearances feature the default voice pack. It's unknown if this was an error, a change that was canceled, or something else entirely.
  • Originally, Ruckus couldn't mount, instead, Bolt would transform into a flying vehicle. Gameplay of this can be seen here.
  • In older versions of Paladins, there used to be a number of additional recolors of default champions. For Ruckus, these recolors included the Gizmo skin for Ruckus' reworked appearance, while the old Ruckus had the Gizmo and Assembly skins.
