== Summary == |
== Summary == |
||
+ | Saati is a damage champion who is equipped with a Hand Cannon that is effective up to medium range. With the ability Dead Ringer, she can confuse opponents by setting up facsimile of herself and then becoming invisible. By hiding behind her decoy and using this ability at the right intervals, the opponents have a hard time to get her down. The advantage is that the decoys can also cause damage and reveal opponents for every shot that the enemy lands on the decoy. By throwing the Ricochet coin in the air and hitting it, she can shoot around corners. In addition, Saati can gain space to the opponents with Blast Back by igniting a kicking backflip to enemies. Her ultimate Wallbang makes it possible to shoot three bullets which pierces the world and enemies. |

The presented age for Makoa would seem to suggest the latter due to it conflicting with previously mentioned information regarding his age, which is explained in his lore trivia section for those interested. |

+ | **Additionally for Saati, regular elves have been shown to have greatly increased lifespans compared to other species, and although Saati is a Dark Elf, which have never been commented on if they share this trait, is another potential reason the presented age could be inaccurate. |

Saati ▶️ is a Damage Champion in Paladins, added on September 15th, 2021.
Lore[ | ]
This is Saati's official bio currently found in her champion page in-game.
No expense is spared to be the best of the best. She may work for money, but she makes her money work for her — with the latest equipment to complement her skills. You may try to take cover, but not even solid cover can save you from Saati, the Trickshot.
To you, a coinflip is a gamble. For her, it’s an opportunity. If you hear that she's after your bounty, you might as well stop running and meet her face to face — either way, it only delays her next night out. The biggest marks yet still walk the Realm, and those big bounties will fund a LOT of carousal.
This is an unofficial version of Saati's bio intended to more clearly present all currently known information regarding her. Sources can be found here.
A dark elf bounty hunter equipped with the latest and highest quality equipment.
While Yagorath rampaged throughout the Realm, Saati ended up in a barfight with Skye.
She later learned of the Abyssal headpiece Caspian had found, after which he invited her to join him.
Summary[ | ]
Saati is a damage champion who is equipped with a Hand Cannon that is effective up to medium range.

Trivia[ | ]
Lore
- Saati's life seems to largely consist of taking on jobs, spending all her money carousing, then taking more jobs so she can continue carousing.[3]
- As also mentioned, Saati could probably afford a yacht (assuming they existed in the Realm) if she wanted one.
- Saati is gay, making her the second character to be confirmed as such following Fernando.[4]
- Saati prefers to work alone, but isn't opposed to the occasional team up.[7]
- Saati is notable for being a rare Dark Elf present on the surface, which aren't typically seen there.[8]
- The coin Saati throws with Ricochet is her "lucky coin".[9]
- Saati's Dead Ringer cutouts are one of her favorite toys. They're made from cardboard and equipped with one of Saati's spare hand cannons.[10]
- Saati has never had any connection with the Outer Tribunal.[11]
- While this post presents Saati as being 24 years old, it's difficult to determine if this is intended to be her canon age, or a random number was chosen just for the post, as the nature of the post is quite obviously not serious. The presented age for Makoa would seem to suggest the latter due to it conflicting with previously mentioned information regarding his age, which is explained in his lore trivia section for those interested.
- Additionally for Saati, regular elves have been shown to have greatly increased lifespans compared to other species, and although Saati is a Dark Elf, which have never been commented on if they share this trait, is another potential reason the presented age could be inaccurate.
- Based on a dev statement revealing Viktor to be around 5'9 or 175cm tall and comparing it to model sizes in-game and out of game, it was discovered that Saati would be around 6' or 182cm tall.

- Cards
- Kinessa - Steady Predictions and Reinforced Standee*
- Lian - Closing Time
- Octavia - Seek
- Skye - Step Off
- Other

References
- The artwork for the card Aggressive Tip may be a reference to a promotional poster for John Wick: Chapter 2.
- The line "Time to look good, get moneys and- Wait. Nah, that's not it." (▶️) could be a reference Rogue Company which uses the slogan "Save the day. Look good. Get Paid."[12]
Promotion
- As with previous champions, in order to promote Saati, Paladins artist Thunderbrush would change his Twitter profile picture and banner. On July 23rd, 2021, his profile picture would be changed to this image (later revealed to be a darkened version of Saati's splash art). His banner meanwhile, would be changed to this image (later revealed to be the background for Saati's splash art).
- Another part of Saati's promotion was influencer packages. From August 14th, 2021 to August 16th, 2021, packages were sent to various Paladins influencers. Each contained a white box, inside of which was a coin featuring Karne[13] on one side and Valera[14] on the other, as well as a message. The message was the same for each influencer and read:
- Saati's standard teasers can be seen here.
- (Teaser 1) "Bounties can run and hide all they want - it just makes things more fun for me."
- (Teaser 2) "I don't mind if you tag along. Competition keeps things interesting."
- (Teaser 3) "No one gets the job done quicker than I do. Sorry love, if you end up on Saati's hit list, it's already too late."
- (Teaser 4) "I set my sights on the target and take what I want. Go ahead, try and stop me."
- (Teaser 5) "Getting paid is my favorite part - and the view from on top is magnificent. A toast... to me."
Concepts
- An early brainstorming sketch for the initially planned new champion releases of 2019 both reveals that Saati was initially intended to release in 2019, and features an early version of her as well, featuring an incredibly different design.[15]
- A near final concept for Saati shows some minor differences, such as a different design for her weapon.[16]
- Originally, Saati would ricochet her shots off a thrown stiletto rather than a coin, but it was ultimately changed due to the coin being "cooler / iconic".[17][18]
- The artwork concept to demonstrate this idea also shows Saati may have originally been intended to be more involved against Yagorath, with a wanted poster for Yagorath also visible.
- A concept of a Corrupted skin exists for Saati, which could possibly become a reality one day, but for now, hasn't gained enough traction.[19][20]
- The skin was also designed to somewhat resemble one of Vora's original concepts, which Saati's hair was based on.[21]
Other
- Saati is one of the few champions to have received an Announcer Pack.
- The motorcycle that appears in Saati's card Steel Coin Purse bears some resemblance to the HL-1700 mount from Realm Royale.
- Saati's weapon was apparently made to look more modern in order to differentiate it from Androxus' revolver.[22][23]
- Saati's hairstyle was modeled after the hair of one of Vora's original concept.[24]
- It's been implied Saati may have originally been conceived as a western-styled champion.[25]
- An alternate version of the card Sure Shot which removes Saati was used for her first teaser.
- Saati's internal name was originally "Dark Elf".[26]
Champion Skins
- Hot Shot
- A hot shot is a term used to describe an important or exceptionally able person.
- Iced Out
- Iced out is a term used to describe treating someone with a lack of affection or warmth
- Though marked as 'Exclusive' in-game, this skin is intended to be 'Limited', as has been mentioned various times.[27]
- Sea Queen / Crimson Tide
- While these skins oddly use Saati's default coin in most scenarios, including the skins' teaser, the coin model used for her in-game Ricochet ability, while hard to see in-game, uses a unique texture that features a pirate-themed version of Valera, while oddly replacing Karne with an anchor symbol.
- The Sea Queen skin appears in the Sea Queen's Gaze and Lurking avatars.
- These skins share their theme with Mermaid Ying, Siren Ying, Mernos Jenos, Ripjaw Buck, Great Orange Buck, Marauder Tyra, Royal Mark Tyra, and Leviathan Yagorath.
- Blake Belladonna
- This skin is part of the sixth set of crossover content alongside the rest of the RWBY Crossover Pass and skins, following Grover, Team Fortress 2 Barik, the Gen:LOCK Crossover Pass, Rambo Viktor, and the Monstercat Crossover Pass and skins.
- This skin appears in the avatar of the same name.
- This skin shares its theme with Ruby Rose Vora, Weiss Schnee Furia, Yang Xio Long Imani, Salem Seris, and Qrow Branwen Corvus.
- Wings of Darkness / Wings of Carnage
- These skins were silently shown early as part of a "art feedback" post by ThunderBrush, the game's art director, on ArtStation. The post additionally shows an earlier design for the skins.[28][29]
- The Wings of Darkness skin appears in the Bloody Brilliant avatar.
- The Wings of Darkness skin also appears in the Who's the Dummy? Death Card.
- These skins share their theme with Abyssal Lord Drogoz, Demonette Maeve, Soul-Stealer Furia, Temptress Skye, Devilish Skye, Doom Bringer Seris, and Flame Bringer Seris.
