Tyra ▶️ is a Damage Champion in Paladins, added on December 20th, 2016.
Lore[ | ]
This is Tyra's official bio currently found in her champion page in-game.
Raised to shoot straight and survive the harsh winters of the Frozen Tundra, Tyra signed on with the Magistrate army at a young age. After the Sentinels' disastrous final mission, she returned to her homeland to make a living tracking down the monstrous threats to the common folk that lurked beyond the fringes of the Realm.
Her unyielding stamina and pinpoint accuracy with the rifle serve her well when helping the Resistance fight back against the Magistrate and bring an end to the war that rages across the Realm. Now, as the Paladins look to reform, she may have one last war in her.
This is an unofficial version of Tyra's bio intended to more clearly present all currently known information regarding her. Sources can be found here.
From a cold frontier, Tyra joined the Magistrate at a young age, eventually becoming part of their elite military unit, the Sentinels. When crystals were discovered and soon after banned from commoners, Tyra was one of the individuals not fond of this approach, and following the disastrous final mission of the Sentinels, left the Magistrate entirely; heading back to her homeland and making a living tracking down monstrous threats from beyond the fringes of the Realm.
Eventually, Tyra would return, joining the Resistance's side in the Crystal War.
At some point following this, Tyra would end up a fight against Ash near Ascension Peak, only for Androxus to interrupt the fight before being subsequently defeated by Ash, allowing the original fight to continue.
Following Raum being unleashed, Tyra began to grow suspicious of what was going on in the Magistrate. She headed back to investigate, where she encountered Strix, who wanted to know the same things; thus the two, sharing no bad blood due to their time in the Sentinels, decided to work together once more, later coming into conflict with Corvus in the Magistrate's Archives.
According to Atlas, in the Lost Future, Tyra would end up dying at some point.
This was Tyra's in-game bio prior to the The Damned Frontier update. It's no longer considered canon.
Raised to shoot straight and survive the harsh winters of the frontier, Tyra signed on with the Magistrate army at a young age. After the Sentinels' disastrous final mission, she returned to her homeland to make a living tracking down the monstrous threats to the common folk that lurked beyond the fringes of the Realm.
Her unyielding stamina and pinpoint accuracy with the rifle serve her well in her new role: helping the Resistance fight back against the Magistrate and bring an end to the war that rages across the Realm.
Summary[ | ]
Tyra is a Damage Champion with high damage and medium health but low mobility. Her skill set excels at area control and hunting down targets. Her Auto Rifle picks off enemies quickly with its high rate of fire and its Nade Launcher that lobs a grenade to finish them off. Tyra's Fire Bomb creates an area of fire that damages any enemies that stand in it (as well as herself). Hunter's Mark allows her to reveal one enemy and increase the damage they take from her primary weapon. Tyra's ultimate skill, Crossfire, dramatically increases her auto rifle's rate of fire and her movement while also granting unlimited ammo. This makes it ideal for a sudden attack; finishing a low health enemy; or turning fights around.

Trivia[ | ]
Lore
- Tyra was a member of the Sentinels when the group was active.[1]
- This was the reason she agreed to work with Strix during Corvus' reveal trailer, as both were suspicious of him, and after unexpectedly meeting each other, decided to work together in order to accomplish this due to the two having no personal bad blood with each other due to their time with the Sentinels together.[2]
- Tyra, at least prior to joining the Resistance, spent her time travelling from village to village in the Realm, saving people by taking on various types of animals and monsters in exchange for money.[3]
- Tyra's pelt is that of a bear.[4]
- Based on a dev statement revealing Viktor to be around 5'9 or 175cm tall and comparing it to model sizes in-game and out of game, it was discovered that Tyra would be around 5'5 or 167cm tall.

- Icons for this skin are still present in the main game's files as well; this also includes an Obsidian and Cosmic variant.
- Tyra was briefly considered to receive Viktor's Rambo skin due to potentially fitting the proportions better, but it was decided she didn't and that Viktor was the right choice.[6]
- Tyra's codename was "Salty", which the developers believe was due to her wielding an 'A-salt-rifle'.[7]
- In older versions of Paladins, there used to be a number of additional recolors of default champions. For Tyra, these recolors included the Conifer and Heartwood skins.
- Having been present in the mobile game 'Paladins Strike', Tyra received unique skins exclusive to Strike. These skins include Admiral Tyra, Black Dragon Tyra, and Light Dragon Tyra.
