This is VII's official bio currently found in his champion page in-game.


Since the very beginning, the Realm has been in peril. Be it calamitous threats rivaling the Scourges of old, or the unbridled ambitions of evil men, fate has always conspired against Realmkind.

It was in defiance of this injustice that the Outer Tribunal was formed. But for true justice to prevail, the order would need more than pious Judges. They'd need an Executioner. Someone unburdened by the trappings of mercy who would ensure that judgements cast were judgements kept.

VII is one whose past is chronicled upon the gravestones of the wicked. He is the grim reaper; a collector of tithes made in guilty blood. Like a phantom, he undertakes missions that would break most men, employing ruthless force and deadly precision. Like death itself, you'll never see his face until you meet him.

A merciless assassin of the Outer Tribunal who seemingly lost everyone close to him in the past.

At some point, he would attack Corvus in a camp set up near Serpent Beach, killing many of his men and leaving Corvus for dead.

Summary[ | ]

Seven (VII) is a mobile flank character with a heavy reliance on accuracy, decision making, active play and cooldown management. He has three different fire modes available that can be switched in battle. The mode used has an influence on the accuracy and the effective distance, which usually reaches medium ranges. Seven can grapple to walls with his Grappling Hook and stick to them becoming stealthed. Thus, he can overcome long distances, hold out at the wall and surprise enemies from ambush. In close combat, he uses his Explosive Dodge to avoid enemy attacks and lure them into his explosive trap. He can also pull lightweight opponents (non-Frontlines) into the trap with his Grappling Hook. His ultimate ability can help him out of a pinch by scaring away enemies.

A weapon with 3 fire modes that is fit for an assassin. Mag Dump is only effective at short range. Automatic is effective at mid-range, and Burst is effective at longer ranges.

(Default) Burst Mode – Fire off six accurate 160-damage shots every 0.65s. Has a maximum range of 175 units and is fully effective up to 100 units. Has a maximum Ammo count of 40.

Mag Dump – Unload your entire magazine, dealing 450 damage for every 10 bullets fired. Mag Dump has a maximum range of 50 units and is fully effective up to 15 units.

Automatic – Fire off your automatic SMG dealing 235 damage every 0.175 seconds. Has a maximum range of 150 units and is fully effective up to 80 units.
  • This ability deals Direct Damage.
  • Has a reload time of 1.1s and can be animation canceled after 0.8s.
  • It can do headshots in all modes.
  • All modes have damage falloff with a maximum reduction of ~40%.
  • Burst Mode and Mag Dump have accuracy bloom.
  • Can use this weapon when latched onto walls.
    • Will remove Stealth after firing but will still remain latched onto the wall, so long for its duration.
  • Burst Mode:
    • Headshots deal 240 damage.
    • Fires 2 shots at the same instant 3 times for a total of 6 shots.
    • The total time between the first shots of each burst is 0.9s, with 0.65s being the delay between the last shot of a burst and the first shot of the next burst.

    • Mag Dump fires the equivalent of 4 shots every 0.15s, each dealing 450 damage and consuming up to 10 Ammo.

Swap between one of the three different fire modes on your Heavy SMG to choose the right tool for the job. Your three fire modes are Burst Mode, Mag Dump Mode, and Automatic Mode, and every activation cycles between these three modes in that order.
  • Has a post fire reload time of 0.65s (time between being able to refire the RMB ability).
  • Can use this ability when latched onto walls.
    • Will not remove Stealth and will remain latched onto the wall.

Explosive Dodge

Dodge in 8 different directions while leaving behind an explosive trap for your enemies.

Detailed Description
Dodge 40 units in one of 8 directions. As you start rolling gain .25s of damage immunity and drop an explosive trap. The trap has three explosions dealing 200 damage for each explosion. The explosions occur every 0.45s once an enemy walks nearby, and they have an effective radius of 30 units. Two explosive traps can be out at once, and they despawn after 6s.
  • This ability deals Area Damage.
  • Traps are Deployables and can be destroyed - having 300 Health.
  • Has a knockback force and knock up force of 100.
  • Can be used when latched onto walls.
  • Can be used midair.
    • Traps will only spawn if close to the ground.

Grapple to walls and stick to them for up to 5s becoming stealthed for the duration. The hook deals 200 damage and pulls VII to Frontline Champions.
  • This ability deals Direct Damage.
  • Has a maximum range of 80 units.
  • Has two charges.
  • Hitting a hook on non-Frontline Champions will deal 200 damage to them, but it will not pull them to VII, nor will it pull VII to them.
  • Requires a certain amount of height for VII to be able to stick to walls.
  • For the first few seconds while pulling with his hook, VII will not stick to walls.
  • Stealth will be applied immediately once VII starts to stick to the wall.
    • When stuck on a wall, pressing the jump button will make VII hop out from the wall, gaining more height based on camera angle.
    • Stealth applied will be immediately removed once VII unsticks himself from the wall, shoots his weapon, or after the duration is over.
    • When the duration is over, VII will immediately drop down from the wall.
  • Can even be aimed at stairs, where VII will jump over them as if he were lunging from a ramp.
  • Can use weapon and other abilities including his ultimate when stuck on a wall.
  • After pulling from a hook, pressing and holding the jump button while in the air prevents VII from sticking to the walls.
  • VII has a "hook tech" that increases the range of his hook significantly. When next to any obstruction, you can aim through it and target where you want to pull. You can even aim at the skybox and it will pull you through. (see here for more info)

Target enemies with your Mask, locking onto them for 0.35s which then marks them – while enemies are marked you can refire his ultimate to trigger the mark, dealing 250 damage and Fearing them for 2s. Can target up to 5 enemies and the duration is 5s.

Details

  • Burn applied with Mag Dump can deal up to 240 damage over 1.9s.
  • In Burst Mode, additional 200 shock damage is applied for every 10 bullets successfully hit, with each bullet making a stack of charge. Each stack can expire if left for too long.
    • The Reveal lasts for 2.5s and is applied with the additional shock damage.

  • VII isn't his real name, with said real name currently not being known.[1]
  • VII's true face is currently planned to never be revealed.[2]
  • Based on a dev statement revealing Viktor to be around 5'9 or 175cm tall and comparing it to model sizes in-game and out of game, it was discovered that VII would be around 6' or 182cm tall.

  • Salt was originally intended to become a champion rather than a skin, but was eventually either replaced or changed into VII.[8]
  • VII is the first champion to lack any Top Play lines following the removal of the system in the Sands of Myth update, as other champions prior to VII following the removal of the system still had lines for Top Play recorded, though they went unused. Champions prior to the system being added had other lines reworked for the system, making VII one of the only characters in the entire game to have no lines used in any form for Top Play.
  • Prior to VII's official reveal, the artwork that appeared when loading the PTS of the Schism update initally featured a crudely drawn low effort version of VII's actual splash art.
  • VII's the first champion to release with more than 2 recolors.
  • VII's codename was "Gold Skull".[9][10]
  • An alternate version of the artwork for Night Watch with the mirror in the background removed was used for one of VII's teasers.
